The Arenas of Truth

A method by Raphaël Sincère

The Arenas of Truth

Stress-Test Your Ideas Before Reality Does

Flaws don’t kill your best ideas. Finding them too late does.

A simple method for having AI challenge your projects, at every stage, before your customers do it for you.

The Problem

You ask for an opinion. You need objections.

You’ve just spent weeks on an offer, a project, or a text. Out of reflex, you show it to the people close to you, or you ask an AI: “What do you think?” The answers are kind and reassuring. That’s when the trap closes.

Your loved ones spare you

out of affection.

They read your face as much as your offer. And they’re rarely your customers.

Your customers keep quiet

out of politeness.

The ones who answer are the ones who stayed. The others won’t tell you why they left.

AI agrees with you

by design.

It tends to tell you you’re right, and all too often says everything is excellent.

All of them offer comfort. None of them offers pushback.

A Real Case

An AI rated my book on love and relationships 9.1 out of 10 and advised me to publish it right away.

A few months later, I submitted its Amazon description to a Market Arena. The blocking criticism landed immediately: “A man is explaining to me how to find love.” The text was all about me. Nowhere did the reader see what she would actually do, or why the method would work for her.

It wasn’t the AI that had changed. It was the way I convened it.

The Difference

The Mirror and the Arena

Two ways to ask an AI about a text. The first asks for its opinion. The second convenes an Arena.

“What do you think? Be honest.” · Typical answer

“This is an excellent start. If I had to nitpick, you could clarify the third paragraph.”

A mirror. It shows you what you hoped to see.

A Prosecutor Arena, on a business proposal

Opposing counsel“We guarantee a reduction in your logistics costs by the end of the engagement.” BLOCKER. The firm is promising a result, when it should only be promising its best efforts.
The insurerA professional insurance policy may exclude guarantees of results given voluntarily. BLOCKER.
The Defender“The client agrees to provide the necessary data”: this is the text’s best protection.

An exact quote, a rating, a Defender. The AI stops trying to please you—and stops making things up, too.

The Method

An Arena of Truth

A group simulated by AI, assembled by you, to examine one thing from the angle of one question, under rules that keep it from going easy on you.

  1. The hidden authorA new conversation, and never “my project.” The AI judges your text as if a stranger had written it.
  2. One third skepticsCustomers, experts, competitors with no interest in pleasing you.
  3. An exact quote for every criticismOtherwise, it’s discarded. And a quick Ctrl+F confirms the sentence really exists.
  4. A DefenderIt flags exaggerated criticism and names what holds up. Without it, the Arena burns everything down.
  5. Facts to verifyEvery figure, name, or law is marked [TO VERIFY]. A fact gets verified; an opinion gets weighed.
  6. Two assistants for important decisionsA criticism both of them raise deserves your attention. A criticism only one raises is a lead.
  • 1Agreement
  • 2Disagreement
  • 3What holds up
  • 4Improvements
  • 5Reality check

From Idea to Launch

An Arena for Every Stage of Your Project

Six Arenas, in the order a project encounters them, and two backup Arenas. Each one answers a single question.

The six Arenas take their names from Rome: Caesar’s exploratores, the Senate that advised without commanding, the surveyors who laid out the roads, the great fire, the trial of Verres, the walls of Pompeii.

Imagine

The Ideas ArenaWhat haven’t we considered yet?

Decide

The Explorers ArenaWho holds the ground? Where are the gaps?
The Sages ArenaIs this the right fight? Is it fair and defensible?

Build

The Builders ArenaHow do we actually do it?
The Fire ArenaWhy is this going to fail?

Go public

The Prosecutor ArenaWhere are the flaws you haven’t seen?
The Market ArenaDoes it speak to the people who need to buy, read, adopt, or accept it?

Launch

The Launch ArenaWhich channel, what price, what timing?

At every stage, in about fifteen minutes, the Arena shows you the flaws you hadn’t seen, what holds up, possible improvements, and the questions to ask real customers. You revise, you check in the real world, then you rerun the Arena on the new version—or move on to the next stage.

Who It’s For

For those who decide alone

This book is for you if…

  • you’re an author, coach, consultant, trainer, entrepreneur, or small-business owner;
  • you often decide alone, with real stakes;
  • you launch offers, projects, products, or texts;
  • you’d rather find a flaw before your customers do than after.

It’s not for you if…

  • you’re looking for an AI that decides for you;
  • you expect a method that guarantees success.

No method makes a decision infallible. This one helps you see, at every stage, what you might have missed.
